They often grow in a variety of environments, such as forest edges, clearings, roadsides and abandoned land. Brambles are indigenous to many parts of the world. They have a long history of use by indigenous peoples for food, medicine and other traditional purposes. Bramble leaves are rich in bioactive compounds, including tannins, flavonoids and phenolic acids, which confer various health benefits. They are traditionally used for their astringent, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and diuretic properties. Bramble leaves are often used in phytotherapy to relieve sore throats, mouth inflammations, gastrointestinal disorders and skin ailments.
