Jerusalem artichoke, raw

Topinambour pour lapin

Winter tuber, native to Canada, the Jerusalem artichoke has its place in the plate of our rabbits.

First of all, because its artichoke-like flavour does not leave our friends indifferent.

Then, because its nutritional properties, its high water content and its low calcium content make it ideal for daily use.

Beware, however, as it is a tuber, it should not be the basis of your rabbits’ diet, because it does not wear out the teeth sufficiently; as for its leaves, edible it too, they are toxic if given in large quantities.
